Urban Sketchers Penang celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. Every Sunday morning, members gather at different locations across Penang, sketching freely with their own materials. From children to retirees, people from all walks of life come together through a shared love of drawing. Over the years, these regular sessions have unintentionally become a vital form of visual documentation, capturing the city’s changing architecture and streetscapes.
In this episode, founding members Mr. Khoo Cheang Jin and Mr. Ch’ng Kiah Kiean will share their experiences in George Town. They’ll reflect on how a collective passion for sketching brought the group together—and continues to inspire creativity and connection today.
