FOR OUR STATE – Photography Exhibition & Launch

Officiated by Lee Khai, Chairman of the Penang State Art Gallery.

Penang Institute is pleased to host FOR OUR STATE, a contemporary photography exhibition featuring seven photographer-artists whose works explore the cultural heritage, communities and everyday life that have shaped and continue to define Penang. Through diverse perspectives, the exhibition reflects on the people, places, memories and traditions that make up the state’s distinctive identity.

FOR OUR STATE runs from 12–27 September 2026 at Penang Institute, 10 Jalan Brown, 10350 George Town, Penang. The exhibition is open to visitors Monday–Thursday, 8.30am–5.00pm, and Friday, 8.30am–4.00pm.

The official launch will take place at 3.00pm on Sunday, 13 September 2026, officiated by Lee Khai, Chairman of the Penang State Art Gallery.

Held under the auspices of ArtVoice Gallery and curated by Stephen Menon, the exhibition offers a contemporary look at Penang’s heritage, communities and evolving identity.
