This workshop is designed for individuals who wish to begin their local history research. You’ll learn how to access archives, interpret historical documents, and transform your findings into engaging stories.
About The Facilitator:
Eugene Quah Ter-Neng is an author, independent researcher, and explorer specialising in the rich history of the Straits of Malacca, with a focus on Penang. His upcoming book,An Illustrated Guide to the North Coast of Penang, continues his work uncovering compelling and often untold stories that connect the region’s past to its present. A regular contributor to Penang Monthly and Penang City Eye, Eugene bridges academic scholarship and local history through meticulous archival research and narrative non-fiction. He is a sought-after heritage interpreter, conducting educational walks for the Penang Heritage Trust and Persatuan Pencinta Sejarah dan Warisan Pulau Pinang (Penang Hidden Gems), and is a member of the Malaysian Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society.
