Malaysia Economic Monitor: Navigating Change Seminar

Penang Institute and the World Bank Group cordially invite you to the seminar on the latest Malaysia Economic Monitor (MEM) report. The focus of this report is on the digital economy. The details are as follow:

Date: September 27, Thursday
Time: 8.00pm–10.00pm (Registration begins at 7.30pm)
Venue: Conference Hall, Penang Institute, 10 Brown Road, 10350 George Town, Penang

ABOUT THE SEMINAR

A prerequisite to unlocking the potential of the digital economy is internet connectivity. While Malaysia does well in terms of digital connectivity by people and government, the same cannot be said for businesses. Only 62 percent of business establishments are connected to the internet, and only 28 percent have some form of web presence. This forum explores how businesses that have opted to be connected leverage on such technologies and what that journey was like. More importantly, it will also explore the challenges faced by businesses when going digital, and what can be done to overcome such challenges.
