Since its inception in 2010, the Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians (KASYP) – a flagship project by think tank Konrad Adenauer Stiftung – has contributed greatly to the capacity building amongst young leaders in the region. The family of KASYP alumni has grown to more than 200 members dedicated to the idea of strengthening political parties and democracy in Asia with accountable and responsible young political leaders. This year, they celebrate a significant milestone for the training programme in reaching 10 batches of KASYPers.
As a key resource person responsible for the success of the flagship project, Ms Braema Mathi, a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at Penang Institute was invited to join the grand alumni anniversary in Penang to share her expertise as a discussant on a panel discussion titled “Youth and Women Participation in Politics”.
Also part of the discussion was Ms. Dilpreet Kaur (Director of Goalweaver Pte. Ltd., Singapore & Asia Pacific), Mr. Jehan Perera (Executive Director of the National Peace Council, Sri Lanka), and Hon. Elvina Sousa Carvalho (Elected Member National Parliament, Timor-Leste)
