The Dragon and Lion Dance has become an indispensable cultural tradition when celebrating various events such as the Lunar New Year. In Malaysia, the cultural tradition gained popularity after great advocacy by local folks. We invited Mr. Liu Jun Lin, the leader of the Penang Hong Guan Cultural and Sports Association, to share his succession of the association during his youth and intriguing anecdotes concerning the cultural dances.
