Renewable Energy Programme in Malaysia

Penang Institute together with Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia is proud to host an engagement session titled “Renewable Energy Programme in Malaysia” which is scheduled as follows:

About SEDA Malaysia
Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia is a statutory body reporting to the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC). SEDA was established in September 2011 under the SEDA Act 2011 [Act 726] with the key purpose of driving the renewable energy and energy efficiency agenda in the country and also advises the Minister on the way forward for renewable energy.

In this engagement session, SEDA will enlighten us further on the renewable energy programme in Malaysia and how you can be part of the MESTECC green movement. Also, participants are advised to arrive earlier to visit the exhibition booths set up by SEDA and their partner.

About the Speaker
Ts. Puan Azah Ahmad obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Ohio State University, USA 1998 and Master of Science in Energy Technology from UKM in 2004. She has extensive years of working experience in energy efficiency and renewable energy. She was the focal point representing Malaysia for the ASEAN Energy Efficiency & Sub-sector Network from 2003 to 2005 and a Technical Committee member on Performance of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances, SIRIM during her tenure with Pusat Tenaga Malaysia. In 2005, she joined the Malaysia Building Integrated Photovoltaic (MBIPV) Project, a project funded by the Government of Malaysia and UNDP/ GEF. She is a certified ISPQ PV installer by the International for Sustainable Power (ISP). Her main role was to manage BIPV systems installations within the MBIPV project including designing, checking system design by the service provider, supervising up to commissioning. From January to September 2011, she was part of the Interim SEDA team.
