Digital Marketer

The Digital Marketer will assist in the development of Penang Institute’s social media channels and support social communities, plan and create engaging social media content to promote the Institute’s services and research; and contribute to the ongoing measurement, evaluation and impact of Penang Institute’s social media activity.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Writing, editing, and publishing engaging and error-free content for various social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for Penang Monthly.
  • Create and take charge of creative publicity initiatives for Penang Monthly to increase outreach (physical and digital).
  • Respond to questions and comments on our social media pages in a timely and accurate manner
  • Manage the website of Penang Monthly.
  • Actively publicise all articles by Penang Monthly.
  • Contribute by writing for Penang Monthly and proofreading articles when required.
  • Reach out to potential advertisers and manage existing advertisers

  • Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, marketing or related disciplines
    • High proficiency in English
    • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency is a plus
    • Familiar with the usage of social media platforms. Social media or content marketing experience a plus
    • Skilled in any graphic designing software;
    • A keen eye for detail and appreciation for great design
    • Based in Penang
