Venue  : KLSCAH Auditorium

DESCRIPTION
Coalition-building is key for anyone who wants to change public policy, political landscape, economic model or social values. It takes more than just rapports, interpersonal skills, or horse-trading. Great projects of coalition-building involve “political” framing –  how values, goals and interests are defined. After all, real game-changing coalitions are never alliances of the likeminded.

Without paradigm shift in political framing, policy debates tend to endlessly go round in circles, while entry points for action remain hard to identify. On the other hand, past achievements can be undone when political framing is ineffective. Even the rise of Obama eight years ago and the defeat of Clinton today can be explained with their success and failure in political framing.

Penang Institute is proud to host Marc Saxer, Resident Representative of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in India, and a strategist on global changes, to present his innovative method of Transformative Change Making (TCM) for anyone who wants to make allies to make a difference in society or politics.
